How to Get a Copy of a Robertson Court Document

You can obtain a copy of a court document in several ways — depending on the type of case and the required format.

Certified and Uncertified Copies

A certified copy bears the official seal of the clerk and confirms the authenticity of the document. Such copies are required for legal purposes — filing in another court, probate, name changes. An uncertified copy is suitable for personal review.

Channels for Obtaining

  • In Person: Visit the appropriate clerk's office in the courthouse in Springfield. You will need the name of the party in the case or the case number.
  • By Mail: Send a written request specifying the case details, document type, and return address.
  • Online: The Circuit Court Clerk provides limited online access to public records, but official copies for legal purposes usually need to be ordered in person or by mail.

Note: Online records are not complete official court documents and should not be used as legal proof.
